Summer Reading Kickoff - Digeridoo Down Under
The Lansdowne Public Library was pleased to welcome Digideroo Down Under as our kickoff for the 2013 Summer Reading Program!
Our performer was Raihan who shared a message of cultural diversity, empathy and cooperation. He introduced us to wordly musical instruments and surprise visitors from the land down under!
We hosted 24 adults and 69 children for our event!

Wee Reads: Rainy Days and Thursdays Always Makes Us Smile
Hi Friends!
On Thursday we celebrated the rainy day with rain themed books.
Ms. Abbe joined us with her ukulele and we did our normal warm up (see an example here) and opening song.
We read the following books:
The Puddle by David McPhail
A Drop of Rain by Herbert Wong Yee
Pete's a Pizza by William Stieg
During Pete's a Pizza each child was given a stuffed animal to act out the book.
Below are the umbrellas we made.
We used lots of resources that we already had around the library and had a blast!
Wee Read meets on Thursdays at 10:30 AM!
