December Things at the Lansdowne Public Library

Good Afternoon Library Friends,

The countdown has begun!
Thanksgiving is days away and that can only mean one thing: December holidays!
No matter what you celebrate one cannot helped be touched by fun holiday books, yearly specials, and the season to be giving.
Join us this December for some great events!


Book Things:
Countdown December holidays with help from our blog! Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or any I haven't mentioned we have a book for you!

Did you know about our book clubs for kids?
Every Thursday beginning at 4PM, children ages 4-7 are invited to join the Book Bunch!
Read and create a craft based on familiar and new picture books.


For 'tweens (ages 7-10) join us for TBC, Tween Book Club!
This month we are exploring the Great Bard: Sixty Second Shakespeare!
We are pleased to share Masterpuppet Theater and introduce young readers to the works of Shakespeare!
Stop in after Monday, November 29th for a booklist.
The group meets Monday, December 13th at 4PM


Library Events:
Crafternoon!
Sunday, December 19th at 1:30PM
It’s hip to be square!
Join us for an afternoon of crafting as we piece together the donated squares for Warm up America! Crocheters and Knitters are invited to make squares or help sew them together.
Don’t knit or crochet? You can still help!
Light refreshments will be served.
Stop by the library for yarn and copies of the pattern

Musician Caryn Lin will Rock us with a mix of classical and rock using an electric violin!

Science Explorers!!
Thursday, December 23rd beginning at 10:30
Join us this month for a Science themed storyhour!
No registration is required


It’s The Rocky Horror Shrek Show!
Monday, December 27th beginning at 12P
When one is at the movies the polite thing is to be quiet but here you are encouraged to talk!
Join us as we watch the first Shrek complete with subtitles and props!
Recite your favorite parts, sing the songs and enjoy an ogre sized afternoon.
Don’t stop here!
The fun continues as we show the fourth film, Shrek Forever After immediately after

Countdown to Noon:
Thursday, December 30th beginning at 11:30 AM
Join us for the third annual Countdown to Noon as we ring in the ‘noon’ year with a bang!
All ages are welcome, children please bring your grown ups!


Teens:
Teens are invited to join our Writers Group, now meeting EVERY Thursday from 6:00 to 7PM.
Teens aged 12 and up are invited to bring their creative works to share.
No registration is required however please contact Miss Amanda with questions or if you need copies of your work made.
