August Things at the Lansdowne Public Library!

Greetings Library Friends!
The summer has FLOWN by. Either that or back to school ads are starting WAY TOO soon!
Our summer so far has been filled with wonderful performances and experiences, this letter serves to remind you that there is still ONE more week of exciting programs left!


Library Things:
Summer Hours have started.
Please note for the months of July and August the library is open from 10-2 on Saturdays and closed Sundays.

Library Job Posting:
Library Clerk (Part-Time)
This position works under the direction of the Library Director and the Circulation Manager. Responsible for charging and checking in library materials, entering patron information in database, processing patron holds, assisting patrons with locating materials in the library and with technology related questions. Must have computer knowledge and experience, excellent customer service skills and the ability to function as part of the library staff team. Position is available immediately. Hours: variesRate of pay: range of $7.25-$8.50 an hour, depending upon level of experience To apply, send a letter of application and summary of your work experience to B. P. Friday Morning Live...
...is Friday Afternoon Live!
Our scheduled performer, Caryn Lin, had a family emergency and is unable to perform for us Friday at 10AM. However, we were lucky enough to find an alternative, but she is only able to perform in the afternoon.
Join us for a special afternoon concert!
Daria will entertain us with songs from around the world! All ages are invited to join us for world music and musical themed crafts!

Through a generous grant from the Lansdowne Allied Youth Council and the Lansdowne Recreation Department, we are pleased to offer Friday Morning Afternoon Live!, weekly live entertainment.

We have an area to complete "You Pick" Activities. Drop in to complete an activity. We'll provide the supplies!

In order to be eligible and entered into the weekly and grand prize drawings all reporting must be done online.
The Schedule for COUNTYWIDE prizes follows:

Aug. 16 Asus Eee PC 10.1 inch Net Book
Remember to log the books you have read online to be eligible!

All participants:
For the weekly prizes and stickers, please bring your completed log into the library.

You can log onto the Lansdowne Public Library website to log your minutes or books. If you do not have internet access, please stop by the library! On Fridays, beginning June 18th at 11:00AM, we will have a dedicated computer and time for you to access the site to create your account and log your activity.

Closing Party
New for 2010!
All participants in the 2010 Summer Reading Program are invited to a special closing party!
Join us for pizza, drinks and snacks as well as music and a spinning lesson from DJ Jamar!

Thursday, 8/5 @ 10:30 AM: Preschool Storytime
Lansdowne Friends School will present Willy Wonka, Kids!
Join us as we welcome the Lansdowne Friends School for a special performance of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory! All ages are welcome to this special storytime event!

And once again the Camden Riversharks have announced a special Library Night at the park!
All participants in the Summer Reading Program are eligible for a free ticket! Parents you are free too! The park is holding a book drive. For every three books someone brings in, they can also receive a free ticket voucher.
Friday, August 27th will be our night at the park.
