February Things at the Lansdowne Public Library

Good Day Library Friends!


February may be the shortest month but we've jammed it full of events to make it seem even LARGER!



Liefde...L'amour...Liebe...Miłość...El amor...Amore...

Love is in the air and February at the Lansdowne Public Library is Love Your Pets Month!

We are pleased to offer special programs sponsored by the Animal Friends of Lansdowne!

Special Events this month include:



Friday, Feb. 4, 4:00 pm

“Babe”



A free showing of the hit 1995 movie starring James Cromwell. Refreshments provided.



Sunday, Feb. 13, 1:30-3:30 p.m.

The “Tail” of Rugby Jones



Claudia Broome will read and sign her children’s book, The “Tail” of Rugby Jones: A Rascal’s Journey from Disability to Ability. The book is narrated by an extraordinary Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Rugby Jones, who lost the use of his hind legs in a freak accident but overcame his disability with the help of a special “doggie wheelchair.” (Weather date is March 6, 1:30-3:30 pm).

Wednesday, Feb. 16, 7:00-8:30 pm

"Ask the Vet"



Attendees will be able to ask Dr. Sara Sprowls of Glenolden Animal Hospital questions about their pets’ health and care – from dogs and cats to more exotic animals. (Weather date to be announced.)



Friday, Feb. 18, 6:00 pm

“Ratatouille”



A free showing of the 2007 Disney cartoon comedy. Refreshments provided.



Sunday, Feb. 20, 1:30-3:30 pm



The Pet Psychiatrist

Why does my dog do that? Now is the chance to ask Dr. David Spiegel for advice about how you can reinforce or change your pet’s behavior. Dr. Spiegel is a veterinarian whose unique practice focuses on the prevention and treatment of behavioral problems in animals. Come ready with questions! (Weather date is March 13, 1:30-3:30 pm)



Sunday, Feb. 27, 1:30-3:30 pm



Meet Bugs, a lovable special needs Dalmatian and his owners, Lansdowne residents Gene and Betty Ward, who will discuss the unique challenges and joys of caring for a pet with special needs.

Piggy Bank Tales!



Join us for financial workshops for kids! Wednesdays beginning February 2nd at 4PM



Make your own piggy bank, learn about saving money and earn prizes!



Ages 8 and up

Polskie Bajki (Polish Tales) Thursday, February 3rd at 10:30AM

This week we welcome Ms. Margaret for a bilingual story time! All ages are welcome!



Join us for Game Day, Friday February 11th beginning at 3PM.

Stop by for this 'Wiivent' as we present video games, board games and make your own games!

We are also hosting a game swap! Don't toss those old games! Bring your old games to the library* and swap for a new to you game!

*Please get your parent's permission first!
