Today, December 1st is...

...Rosa Park Day.

On this date in 1955, Rosa Parks is arrested for refusing to relinquish her seat on a Montgomery, Alabama, bus and move to the back. This was celebrated as the beginning of the end of segregation. Read all about the life of Parks, an unlikely heroine, at Rosa Parks: Pioneer of Civil Rights.
